Overview
Visual Storage Analyser is an Android app that analyzes storage usage on your device. It visualizes storage usage by folders, files, and apps so that you can explore storage contents and identify items that may be taking up space. The app also lets you delete files through the app when you choose to do so.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Visual Storage Analyser app. It describes the app's handling of information and the role of third-party advertising services.
Information and data collection
The app does not require you to create an account to use its core storage-analysis features. It does not upload the contents of your device storage to developer-operated servers.
| Information | Why it is accessed or processed |
|---|---|
| Storage and file information, such as file paths, names, sizes, types, and folder structure | To analyze and display storage usage, let you explore storage contents, and carry out file operations you request. |
| App storage usage information | To display how storage is used by apps as part of the app's storage visualizations. |
| Advertising-related information handled by Google AdMob, including IP address, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers | To provide advertising, measure ad performance, support analytics, and prevent fraud, as described below. |
Storage and file information used by the app's core features is separate from information that may be collected or processed by Google AdMob for advertising.
Local processing and storage contents
Storage analysis is performed locally on your Android device. The app uses storage and file information to calculate and display storage usage and to support your requested actions. Your storage contents are not uploaded to the developer's servers.
The app's storage access is for its core functionality; it is not used to create a cloud copy of your files or to provide a developer-operated file-storage service.
Advertising
Visual Storage Analyser uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to request banner and interstitial advertisements. According to Google's current SDK disclosure, the SDK automatically collects and shares IP address, product-interaction information (such as app launches, taps, and video views), diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers. An IP address may be used to estimate a device's general location. Google states that it uses this information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
This advertising-related processing is handled by Google and, where applicable, its advertising partners under their own privacy practices. It is separate from the storage and file information the app accesses to provide its storage-analysis features; the app does not provide AdMob with a copy of your storage contents.
Permissions
Depending on your Android version and the files you choose to manage, the app may request storage or file access permissions. These permissions are needed to:
- read storage and file information to analyze and display storage usage;
- let you browse folders and files within the access Android provides; and
- perform file operations, including deletion, only when you request them.
You can review or change app permissions in your Android device settings. Restricting storage access may prevent some features from working or limit what the app can analyze.
File deletion
File deletion is performed only when you initiate it through the app and confirm the action where applicable. Before confirming deletion, please carefully verify the selected file or files. Deleting a file can be irreversible depending on your device, Android version, and the location of the file.
You remain in control of which files you select for deletion. The app does not delete files automatically as part of storage analysis.
Data security
The app is designed to process storage analysis on your device and avoid sending storage contents to developer-operated servers. However, no method of electronic storage, software operation, or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device protected and review files carefully before taking action.
Children's privacy
Visual Storage Analyser is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app's core storage-analysis features. Google AdMob's handling of advertising-related information is governed by Google's policies.
Your choices and advertising controls
You may control app permissions through Android settings. For ads, you can review and manage Google's ad personalization settings through My Ad Center. Your device may also provide controls for advertising identifiers or personalized ads. The availability and effect of these controls depend on your device, Android version, Google settings, and region.
